Sick Day

Maybe it’s because the weather is changing, getting colder and wetter. Maybe I’ve ruin myself to exhaustion. 

Maybe it’s going around. Whatever is to blame, today is a sick day. I knew it was going to be when I woke up this morning, but I hoped it would pass. Guess I’m not that lucky.

Sick days in college suck a lot. If you decide to suck it up and go to class (like I attempted to do) you have to go outside. That’s probably the only thing I miss about high school. In high school once you trekked from the parking lot, you didn’t have to leave again until the end of the day. College isn’t cool like that. All of my classes are in different buildings that happen to be across the quad from each other. The exercise is good, but doing it in the chill when all you want to do is still be in bed, is not a great idea.

Aside from having to go outside, professors aren’t required to be nice. Even if you email them and say you won’t be in class because you don’t feel well, they don’t always give you the handouts, assignments or help on those assignments that you need. I think it’s all about knowing the professor and what you can get away with. Thankfully, this semester most of my professors are pretty chill. Their power points end up online (eventually) and they seem to be willing to work with students. Those are the best professors in my opinion. By keeping me out of class, they are keeping themselves and everyone else healthy. Sick days are no fun.

Karma has to rear her ugly head and have me get sick on a day that I have a lot to do. All I really want to do is lay in bed and watch movies, but the homework has to get done sometime.

Anyway I’ll stop complaining now and leave you with some hump day cuteness.
